Possibilities for career development
The future is here
My name is Jani, and I started working part-time in the passenger car tyre production department when I was still studying production technology at the Tampere University of Technology in 2004. My Master’s thesis was about production control in primary production. I started as a full-time production controller in primary production in 2006. I was named a quality engineer in the autumn of 2007. My current tasks are versatile: projects connected with improvement of quality, handling complaints from customers overseas and tasks connected with quality control in off-take manufacturing, to mention a few.
The best thing in my job is the scope: I get to interact with both upper management and production people. My colleagues are helpful, and it’s easy to work with them. I have noticed that at Nokian Tyres, everybody helps a colleague, even when the issue causing problems is actually not included in the scope of their work. It’s good to work in a continuously developing company; I feel like I have a future here. I can imagine staying here until I retire.
