Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 is a brand new studded tyre designed for Nordic conditions, combining unparalleled winter properties and excellent driving comfort. Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 is a chameleon on the winter roads, adjusting flexibly to changing weather conditions and different degrees of grip on the road.
In addition to its firm grip, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 offers drivers a uniquely smooth and pleasant driving experience. The pleasant driving experience is down to an innovation similar to that used in good running shoes: air shock absorbers that soften and absorb the impact of the studs on the road, creating a flexible and smooth driving experience.
The combination of multi-edged and sturdy anchor studs and air shock absorbers is referred to as Air Claw Technology. This technology also reduces wear and tear on the road, dampens tyre noise and prolongs the service life of the studs.
Tread features: winter grip, tear resistance and smooth rolling
The tyre tread is made from a compound of natural rubber, silica and canola oil, which provides grip in extreme winter conditions, endurance against wear and tear and wet grip. The canola oil increases tear resistance and gives the tyre good grip on ice and snow. The high proportion of silica in the compound means that Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 has an extremely low rolling resistance, thus reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions.
Tread pattern improves stability and driving properties
The tread pattern is symmetrical and has a fixed rolling direction. The middle area of the tread boosts the tyre’s driving properties on bare asphalt. The supporting rib in the middle stabilises the tyre and improves lateral grip.
The shoulder areas are quite straight and narrow and the studs are distributed widely on the tyre. The tyre will not get clogged up with snow or slush, and will instead clean itself.
