Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P Delivers Nordic-Inspired Safety for Central European Winter Conditions

Nokian Tyres has infused its Nordic DNA into a new premium winter tire for drivers in Central and Southern Europe – the Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P. The new product from the inventor of the winter tire is designed to deliver excellent performance and predictability for drivers in diverse Central European winter conditions, from snow and slush to wet and dry roads.

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P is Born for Winter and Built for Speed and Control. The Snowproof 3P offers outstanding winter grip on all surfaces, balancing the thrill of the road with predictable safety rooted in decades of expertise from the northernmost tire manufacturer in the world. The product is ideal for Central and Southern European drivers who use their high-performance vehicles, sedans and SUVs for daily commutes, challenging mountain passes, long journeys and high-performance driving alike. Fifty products from 17 to 21 inches are available this fall, all but one of which are marked XL for the heaviest possible load in each size. In the future, selection will increase to 98 SKUs across 96 sizes, from 16 to 22 inches.

Up to 40 percent of the Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P consists of renewable, recycled and ISCC PLUS certified* raw materials thanks to a new blend of renewable resins and silica, a step forward on Nokian Tyres’ journey to raise that number to 50 percent in its tires by 2030. Nokian Tyres makes the Snowproof 3P at its new factory in Oradea, Romania, which is the first full-scale zero-CO2-emissions (scope 1 and 2) tire factory in the world, with select sizes produced at its factory in Nokia, Finland.

Nokian Tyres tested the tire in both controlled and real-world conditions to ensure top-tier safety and performance. Winter testing took place at Nokian Tyres’ renowned Ivalo Test Center in Finnish Lapland, ensuring the tire meets the strictest standards in snow and ice. High-speed and wet performance testing were carried out at Nokian Tyres’ Hakka Ring facility in Spain and at the company’s test track in Nokia, Finland. Care was taken to ensure the tire reflects current trends and the latest expectations of consumers.

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P has been granted the Premium TÜV SÜD Tire Mark, which is a proof of excellence certifying that it compares favorably with its competitors in terms of quality and performance. Meeting TÜV SÜD’s demanding benchmark standards confirms that the Snowproof 3P stands firmly among the leading performers in its class. This external verification complements Nokian Tyres’ own extensive internal testing and provides transparent, third-party proof of the tire’s quality and reliability.

The new tire is Nokian Tyres’ latest flagship product offered for Central and Southern European consumers – Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P for winter tires, Nokian Tyres Seasonproof 2 for all-season and Nokian Tyres Powerproof 2 for summer products.

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P is built for real Central European winter, delivering outstanding winter grip on all surfaces, excellent wet braking and strong aquaplaning resistance. At the same time, it is predictable at high speeds and boasts Aramid-reinforced durability where winter roads hit hardest.

Excellent Snow and Wet Performance

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P offers high-performance driving on snowy and rain-covered roads. Its Alpine Performance Concept 3.0 strengthens grip through a Triple Zone Tread – an Arctic Zone with 3D siping designed for safety in snow, an Aqua Zone with a blade groove design that helps prevent aquaplaning, and a Performance Zone with optimized geometry that hugs every corner.

The Arctic Zone combines two different 3D-locking sipes, one on the shoulder blocks and another on the middle blocks. Their task is to improve stability and provide agile steering on wet, dry and snowy surfaces while enhancing braking and traction.

The Aqua Zone helps the tire resist aquaplaning while improving wet braking performance. Its Blade Groove design increases the tire’s groove volume to provide better contact on wet roads.

And the Performance Zone optimizes directional stability on straightaways and corners, making steering more precise by allowing responsive feedback.

High-Speed Precision and Balanced Handling

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P combines outstanding winter capability with precise high-speed handling and class-leading control. Its Alpine Grip Compound offers exceptional performance in winter conditions while also excelling in wet and dry conditions at warmer temperatures. Nokian Tyres enhanced the compound with a new generation of polymers and renewable resins, as well as the highest proportion of silica it has ever used in a winter tire designed for Central European drivers. The high silica content allows the tire to remain responsive in cold temperatures without compromising wet grip. It also helps lower the Snowproof 3P’s rolling resistance, maximizing efficiency while working to minimize emissions.

The tire’s Power Lock Core comes with Performance Bead Rings that enhance stability and handling during sudden maneuvers. This unlocks the performance characteristics that make the Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P an ideal option for consumers who prioritize elite handling during high-speed driving.

More Durability with Aramid Strong Sidewalls

The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P takes another step forward in durability, as well. Nokian Tyres offers Aramid Strong Sidewalls in all sizes of the tire 17 inches and above, reinforcing the tire against impacts from potholes and road hazards thanks to the same material used in the defence and aerospace industries. Aramid is a lightweight fibre embedded throughout the sidewalls that reduces the risk of punctures. Meanwhile, a large rim protector shields wheels from damage due to curbs and impacts.

The tire is certified with Nokian Tyres’ Electric Fit emblem, which signifies it was developed and tested for use on electric vehicles as well as internal combustion engines. The low-rolling-resistance tire compound maximizes efficiency for all types of vehicles – electric and internal-combustion-engine.
