Nokian Tyres to open first Vianor outlets in USA

Nokian Tyres has purchased a tyre retailer Goss Tire Company in the USA on the 25.10.2007. Goss Tire Company has five tyre outlets in Vermont and one in the New York State. Nokian Tyres will employ the personnel of Goss Tire Company, i.e. total of 40 people.

The new tyre outlets shall expand the existing Nokian Tyres’ Vianor tyre chain, which now consists of 340 outlets in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Switzerland and in the USA. Nokian Tyres owns 174 outlets and the others operate on a franchising basis. Vianor chain is being rapidly expanded especially in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

- The acquisition enables Nokian Tyres to increase its tyre sales and to have access to the consumer sales in the US market. We are aiming at further expanding the Vianor operations in the near future in the US winter tyre areas, says Mr. Seppo Kupi, Managing Director, Vianor Holding Oy.
