Nokian Tyres has invested heavily on a new, state-of-the-art test center for Nokian Heavy Tyres, upgrading the testing capabilities to a whole new level with added automation and capacity. Despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, the magic is already happening in the new building – enabling us to introduce more and better new heavy tires.

The Nokian Ground King tractor tire with its new kind of HybrilugTM pattern caused quite a stir upon its release in 2019. For the first time, the same tire could bring excellent results both on soft field and in fast road transports. To unlock the potential versatility of as many tractors as possible, the Nokian Ground King tire range is steadily growing – with the total of 20 sizes available from this January.

The Nokian E-Truck range of truck tires strike an excellent balance between economical, care-free kilometers and exceptionally good all-weather properties. The latest addition to the range is sizes for medium-sized trucks. The new 19.5 size complements the tire range, enabling medium-duty trucks in the 12–16-ton range to benefit from their readiness for every season.

Nokian Tyres introduced the Intuitu smart tires in Agritechnica 2019 fair in Hannover last November. Now Intuitu will be available for selected agricultural and contracting tractor tires, with sales starting from Finland.

Medium-size delivery trucks and buses are shuttling the streets in every city, keeping people and goods moving. The Nokian E-Truck range of truck tires has proven to be a dependable choice for long and medium haul road transports, so why not expand it to cover these lighter vehicles as well? Now the same economical kilometers are available for regional and city traffic with the new Nokian E-Truck 17.5 tire range.

Nokian Ground King was the major tractor tire release by Nokian Tyres in 2019. Its unique Hybrilug™ technology effectively combines the best features of lug and block patterns, enabling excellent mobility on soft fields as well as comfortable road transports. During 2020, the Nokian Ground King tire will have eight new sizes, making it compatible with even broader range of equipment.

The Nokian R-Truck tire series was developed for the special needs of on/off-road use in mind. Now the heavy-duty Nokian R-Truck Steer XL steer axle tire in size 385/65R22.5 will make even the heaviest construction and timber trucks ready for both worlds.

Released in 2019, the Nokian Ground King hybrid pattern tractor tire promises to be the first to bring new kind of efficiency to combined field and road application in agriculture. Working in collaboration with a local major agricultural contracting company Blunk GmbH, the German Kiel University put the tire through a series of tests in everyday practical work. The conclusion? The new Hybrilug™ pattern lives up to its promises. 

With close to a million units sold, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck E tires and compatible Noktop Hakkapeliitta E retreading materials have been a benchmark for extreme winter traction tire for over a decade. Autonomous vehicles are being developed and tested in many real-world environments. One of the most promising applications is material transport in closed areas, where safety matters are under tight control. Now Stora Enso, a major Finnish forestry renewable materials company, is testing an autonomous truck in their mill area in Uimaharju, Eastern Finland. Nokian Tyres has provided the test truck with top-notch smart tires with Nokian Tyres Intuitu technology.
