A new era for city bus tires – Nokian Tyres introduces new Nokian Tyres Hakka City Bus for all axels with enhanced wear resistance

Nokian Tyres Hakka City Bus is designed to meet the requirements of today's electric transport. As city buses become electrified, the drive axle tires, in particular, must withstand heavy strain from frequent acceleration and braking. The Nokian Tyres Hakka City Bus delivers good wear resistance and minimal heel/toe wear  — helping operators maintain cost efficiency without compromising safety or performance. 

“This tire features a new type of tread pattern with longitudinal center sipes for good stability. It also has reinforced sidewalls and strong and solid shoulders. These features are essential for protecting the tire when it gets scratched or hit curbs while driving”, says Teppo Siltanen, Senior Product Manager at Nokian Tyres. 

Nokian Tyres Hakka City Bus is designed for the changing weather conditions in Central Europe from warm summer roads to the mild winter climates. It has low rolling resistance and noise level, which help lower fuel expenses and improve ride comfort for bus passengers. 

Increased load capacity for electric buses 

Nokian Tyres Hakka City Bus is available in size 275/70R22.5 and it is designed for all axles. Because electric buses have higher axle loads, Hakka City Bus tire has increased load capacity especially designed for today’s urban needs. High load index allows over 8000kg steer axle weight. 

This tire is also available for retreading with Noktop Hakka Bus tread intended for bus use. 

Designed in Finland, tested in extreme conditions
