Nokian Tyres launches Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 to deliver grip, wear resistance, and stability on winter roads
Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 is the new-generation of Hakkapeliitta Truck D family for regional and medium to long-haul usage, with better wear resistance compared to its predecessor. The new tire is part of the entirely redesigned family of Nokian Tyres truck and bus tires, combining Finnish design with the demands of modern transportation.
The Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 is a drive axle tire that offers significant upgrades in performance and durability to its predecessor Hakkapeliitta Truck D tire.The special tread compound of Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 is the result of the new, advanced mixing technology, combining wear resistance with grip.
“Our extensive testing shows that this tire can deliver up to 20 percent better wear resistance. This directly lowers the total cost of ownership”, says Teppo Siltanen, Senior Product Manager at Nokian Tyres.
Although wear resistance has improved, it has not been achieved at the expense of grip. Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 offers excellent grip and stability, especially on winter roads, thanks to its dense, new type of 3D siping and the patented “Twin-Block” tread structure. The tire maintains its grip properties even when worn.
Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 is noticeably sturdier than its predecessor making it also suitable for high-powered vehicles. Its flexible tread pattern is ideal for winter conditions while remaining firm enough to manage the torque produced by powerful vehicles.
Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta Truck D2 will be available in three sizes in early 2026. Suitable for both trucks and buses, it offers versatile applications and is also available as a Noktop precured tread for retreading.
Designed in Finland, tested in extreme conditions
Nokian Tyres is renewing its entire line of truck and bus tires, and the changes are significant.
