Nokian Tyres’ next generation smart tire technology awarded a prestigious silver distinction

Nokian Tyres has received the prestigious Agritechnica Innovation Award presented by the German Agricultural Society DLG. The Silver Medal distinction was awarded to Nokian Tyres next-generation smart tire technology Nokian Tyres Intuitu™ 2.0 Smart Pressure Assistant.

Nokian Tyres Intuitu™ 2.0 Smart Pressure Assistant developed for Nokian Tyres Soil King VF tires is next generation smart tire technology featuring load-sensing. The innovation uses tire sensors to determine the axle load during driving and suggests the correct tire pressure for use on the road and for working on the field.

The first-generation Intuitu™ smart tire technology with its easy-to-use mobile device application was first introduced by Nokian Tyres in 2020, and the digital tire technology has since been developed further to solve the challenges farmers face every day.

Nokian Tyres will launch the groundbreaking innovation in October and its game-changing way to improve the efficiency of farm work is also introduced during the Agritechnica fair in November.

"Intuitu™ 2.0 provides farmers with a unique way to make the most out of their machines while maximizing productivity, lowering fuel consumption, protecting soil and extending tire life. We are very excited to launch the new technology in October, and very proud that its exceptional value and impact has also been recognized by DLG”, says Nokian Tyres President CEO Paolo Pompei.

The winners of the Agritechnica Innovation Award are selected by an independent jury of experts. It is one of the most respected honors in the global agricultural machinery industry, recognizing groundbreaking technologies that advance farming practices, improve efficiency, and promote sustainability.

This year the jury reviewed 251 entries from leading innovators across the sector. From these, two Gold Medals and 22 Silver Medals were awarded. A Silver Medal is awarded to innovations that represent a significant improvement to an existing product or process have practical relevance and demonstrate enhanced reliability and efficiency, and have positive environmental impact.

The world’s largest agricultural trade fair Agritechnica 2025 is held in Hanover, 9–15 November. The development of Intuitu 2.0 has been partially funded by Business Finland.
