This Accessibility Statement applies to the service maintained by Nokian Tyres at www.nokiantyres.com/heavy. Our service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. The accessibility of the service has been assessed by our technical implementation partner. We are committed to making our service accessible to everyone. Instructions for providing feedback can be found at the end of this statement.
How Accessible is Our Service?
Based on the latest assessment, our service is partially compliant with the requirements of the law and meets the WCAG 2.1 criteria at levels A and AA in part.
We are dedicated to ensuring that our services are accessible to all users and welcome feedback regarding the accessibility and usability of our services. Instructions for providing feedback can be found at the end of this statement.
Non-Accessible Content
Our service is not yet fully compliant with all accessibility requirements. Below is a list of known issues.
Contrast and Visual Presentation
- Color Contrast: Insufficient color contrast exists for some texts, labels and interactive elements. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11)
Structure and Navigation
- Heading Structure: Heading levels are sometimes not used in a logical descending order (h1, h2, h3, etc.), and heading levels are skipped.
- Keyboard Focus: The "Skip to main content" shortcut is inaccessible to keyboard users in some browsers. (WCAG 2.4.1)
- Content Order: The floating "Renew consent" button for the cookie banner appears as the first element in the Document, which disrupts the logical reading order for screen readers. (WCAG 1.3.2)
- Focus Indication: Some interactive elements, including video player close buttons, lack a visible focus style, making keyboard navigation difficult. (WCAG 2.4.7)
Media and Alternative Text
- Non-Informative Alt Text: Some illustrations and graphics have empty, redundant, or non-informative alternative text, meaning screen reader users cannot perceive the visual information conveyed. (WCAG 1.1.1)
- Embedded Graphics: Some embedded SVG images are not hidden from the accessibility tree and lack accessible names. (WCAG 1.1.1)
- PDF Documents: PDF headings use excessive letter spacing, which causes screen readers to read the text verbatim as individual letters instead of words. The main language for some PDF documents may be unset, causing screen readers to misread the content language. (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.1.2)
Interactive Elements and Forms
- Form Labels: Some labels in forms have insufficient contrast ratio. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Accessible Names: Some interactive elements lack accessible names. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- Video Player Controls: The embedded YouTube video player lacks sufficient keyboard control, and closing the video modal can be difficult if focus enters the player. (WCAG 2.1.1)
- Non-Functional Buttons: Certain elements labeled as "Read More" or "Show details" are not functional buttons or links but are wrapped by a parent link, creating a confusing experience for voice control users and those relying on the tab order. (WCAG 2.4.4, 4.1.2)
Content Not Covered by Legislation
- Web content archived before 28/06/2025.
- Office software files (e.g., doc, pdf, odt) published before 28/06/2025.
- Video or audio recordings published before 28/06/2025.
