Nokian Tyres to end sponsorship of the 2027 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship if Russia participates
Nokian Tyres has decided that it will end its sponsorship of the 2027 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship if Russia is allowed to participate in the tournament.
“Our sponsorship agreement with the IIHF covers the 2026 and 2027 World Championships, and our cooperation around the 2026 tournament was very successful. However, under the current circumstances, continuing the sponsorship if Russia participates would not be aligned with our values. We have therefore decided to end our sponsorship of the 2027 World Championship should Russia be allowed to take part,” says Tiina Frazer, SVP, Brand, Marketing and Communications at Nokian Tyres.
