Nokian Tyres is launching a new tyre to the market. The Nokian WR reflects the know-how of the Nordic tyre factory in the field of high-performance winter tyres. The Nokian WR is developed in particular for the needs of drivers in Central Europe, and what is known as the all weather plus category, in the North American markets. The product is manufactured in T, H, V and W speed categories, which clearly show a stronger growth than other tyre segments.

The size range covers the most important tyre sizes of Europe and the US. One particular size (235/50 R 18 W) is intended for top speed driving (270 km/hour), and is the world's fastest winter tyre. The products will be available world-wide for consumers in Autumn 2002.

The Nokian WR is developed for fast driving and changing wintery conditions. Special emphasis has been placed on the tyre's handling and wet grip properties. The Nokian WR tread is a new full silica compound that considerably increases
the tyre's wet grip and wear.

The innovative product replaces the Nokian NRW winter tyre, which achieved excellent test results in Autumn 2001 published by significant German magazines.
