Nokian Tyres plc Press release 5 September 2006 at 10.00 am

Driving in the north calls for tyres designed for Nordic conditions. To meet these demands Nokian Tyres has developed brand-new summer tyres especially suitable for the rough, wet and grooved roads, and for the challenging and changeable conditions in Russia and the Nordic countries.

The Nokian Hakka, a new summer tyre family featuring four different tyres and a wide range of sizes, will now rise beside the Hakkapeliitta winter tyre range, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The new products will be available in Nordic and Russian tyre outlets in the spring of 2007.

First in line for launch are the H (210 km/h) and V (240 km/h)-rated tyres for passenger cars: Nokian Hakka H and Nokian Hakka V. The Nokian Hakka will also be available for goods and delivery vans: Nokian Hakka C Cargo and Nokian Hakka C Van.

Numerous innovations prevent aquaplaning

The Nokian Hakka H and Nokian Hakka V both use the same tread pattern. The differences between the two lie in the rubber compound and structure. New innovations and technical solutions have improved the driving safety and durability of the tyres. Product development has focused on the prevention of aquaplaning, as well as on enhancing wet grip and tyre handling on dry asphalt. The novelties feature many technical solutions that have resulted in low inside and pass-by noise.

The Nokian Hakka C Cargo and Nokian Hakka C Van are designed for demanding professional use.

Cost-free Hakka warranty against punctures

Nokian Tyres will further improve the safety of its products in conjunction with the launch of its new Nokian Hakka range. The company will grant a cost-free Hakka warranty for Nokian Hakka passenger car summer tyres in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. An appropriately used and correctly mounted tyre that is accidentally damaged in normal usage will be replaced, free of charge, with a corresponding new tyre. The Hakka warranty applies to maximum groove depths of four millimetres for three years from the purchase date.
