Nokian Tyres is renewing and strengthening its Central and Eastern European operations by locating its sales and customer service unit in Prague, the Czech Republic. Nokian Tyres' Central European sales and logistics centre will be strengthened by national sales companies and regional sales organisations. The new operating model will improve customer services and boost sales support.
Nokian Tyres aims to improve customer and logistics services by reorganising its sales operations. Central European sales and distribution will be primarily managed from one location. Sales companies in Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic will continue to serve their regional customers with the support of the Prague unit.
“An accurate and deep understanding of markets is necessary to cope with increasing competition. The new operating model offers us better opportunities to understand and realise our customers' expectations. Our core targets include developing flexible and fast services and boosting delivery reliability,” says Kari-Pekka Laaksonen, Nokian Tyres’ Vice President, Sales and Logistics.
Nokian Tyres' logistics centre, located in Ejpovice, the Czech Republic, will complement the new centralized sales organisation model. The centre’s optimal location in the heart of Europe will improve tyre deliveries and regional customer services.
Dieter Köppner, formerly responsible for the German sales company, will head Nokian Tyres’ operations in Prague. Teemu Tirronen, who formerly served as the Export Manager to Central Europe, has been appointed Business Development Manager. Roman Plachy will be the Operations Manager.
