NOKIAN TYRES TO START CONTRACT MANUFACTURING WITH AMTEL IN RUSSIA
Nokian Tyres will start contract manufacturing of car winter tyres with Amtel Holdings Company in Russia during the autumn 2002.
Tyres will be manufactured initially under Nordman brand and they will be directed to Russian markets. The objective is to manufacture 200.000 tyres during the year 2002 and to gradually expand the manufacturing to cover also car summer tyres.
- This is the first and important step for Nokian Tyres in its objective to establish itself as a tyre manufacturer in the strategically important and growing market area, says Mr. Kim Gran, President and CEO of Nokian Tyres.
