The Nokian Forest King E is the latest addition to the Nokian Tyres special forestry tyre range. It is designed for mid-range forestry machinery weighing less than 14 tons. It combines the two key properties of forestry tyres by being both efficient and environmentally friendly.
The aim when designing the Nokian Forest King E was to create a tyre that performs flawlessly and effectively even in the most demanding conditions without causing unnecessary damage to the terrain. Its tread design and body structure ensure that the Nokian Forest King E grips well even on soft surfaces without needing to use chains and tracks. Its tread pattern has great self-cleaning properties and it provides reliable grip and minimal soil disturbance without tearing the ground and vegetation.
In extreme conditions, such as swampy terrain, chains and tracks may be needed to maximise the tyre's load-bearing capacity. The combination of tread pattern and body structure of the Nokian Forest King E is designed for reliably fitting tracks and chains without causing damage to the tyre or tearing it.
The strong grip and great self-cleaning properties of the Nokian Forest King E have been achieved by using wide tread pattern that reach all the way down to where the tyre is at its widest. The sidewalls of forestry tyres need to endure hard wear, heavy impacts and abrasion. The sidewalls of the Nokian Forest King E are as straight as possible and there is a special sidewall protector rib to provide the tyre with maximum durability and wear-resistance.
The environmentally friendly Nokian Forest King E tyres are manufactured at Nokian Tyres' factory using raw materials, components and rubber compounds that are ideal for forestry use. The tyre is aimed at global markets and the sales will start in June 2001. The tyre is available for original equipment installations and after market sales. The available dimensions are
700/45-22.5, 600/55-26.5 and 700/50-26.5.
For forestry equipment weighing more than 14 tons, Nokian Tyres has developed new 20 PR tyres that use Nokian Forest King ELS L-2 treads. The new sizes are: 600/55 ' 26.5 and 700/50 ' 26.5.
