Nokian Tyres plc Stock Exchange Release February 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.
Nokian Tyres is adding five new tyres to its product selection for varying Central European winter weather. The new Nokian WR D4 passenger car tyre, the Nokian WR C3 for versatile use on vans, and the Nokian Weatherproof product family that demonstrates the All-Weather concept, improve the competitive strength of the world's northernmost tyre manufacturer especially in Central Europe.
Central Europe is the world's largest market area for winter tyres. Approximately 70 million winter tyres were sold in 2014 and the winter tyre segment is growing faster than the overall market. As the tyre markets expand and winter tyre legislation becomes more common, Central Europe has become one of Nokian Tyres' most important areas for growth.
The new Nokian WR D4 is a premium passenger car winter tyre that offers top-notch wet grip, the best A and B class in the EU tyre label standard. This uncompromising winter tyre represents an entirely new generation that follows the Nokian WR D3, the winner of multiple comparison tests in motoring media.
With the introduction of the Nokian Weatherproof product family, Nokian Tyres is introducing its All-Weather concept to the wider European market. The core of the concept is to offer a functional, all-year solution for drivers who want to avoid the seasonal tyre changes but still want the best possible safety for snowy, slushy and rainy roads on every day of the year. The extensive and modern size selection of the Nokian Weatherproof is suited for passenger cars, SUVs and vans.
Nokian Tyres introduces the new Central European products to its main stakeholders in the coming weeks. Detailed product information will be published on Wednesday, 25 February.New products will be made available to consumers in the autumn of 2015.
