Nokian Tyres Stock Exchange Release December 18, 2008 2.00 pm
A walkout of the production personnel in Nokian Heavy Tyres factory in Nokia started today December 18 at 12 am as a protest against the company plans to adjust production capacity. According to the announcement from the employees the walkout will stop on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 10 pm. The statutory negotiations of the adjustment measures are continuing and will end on Monday, December 22, 2008.
According to previous announcement Nokian Heavy Tyres may have need for lay-offs of approximately 100 employees for approximately 7-8 months as of January 2009.
