Finnish IT professional Jussi Kallioniemi broke the world record for fastest time to push a car one mile on the Nokia test track in October 2020. The Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV winter tires, known for their safety and very low rolling resistance, assisted with the light rolling.

The new world record was set when Nokian Tyres’ product development, Vianor’s professional pit crew and well-known stunt driver Vesa Kivimäki combined their strengths. The tyres on the record-breaking car had been reinforced with Nokian Tyres Aramid Sidewall technology. The new world record for the fastest car on two wheels was measured at Seinäjoki Airport on 31 August 2016.

The new world record for fastest car on ice was achieved by Nokian Tyres, inventor of the winter tyre, when test driver Janne Laitinen drove at a speed of 335.713 kilometres per hour (208.602 mph) on the ice of the Gulf of Bothnia in freezing winter weather. Grip and speed like never before were ensured by the new spearhead product for the world’s leading manufacturer of winter tyres – the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tyre (255/35R20 97 T XL).

The new world record for fastest car on ice was set by Nokian Tyres' test driver Janne Laitinen who drove 331,610 km/h (206,05 mph) on the Gulf of Bothnia in Oulu, Finland. The record was broken on March 6th on a 14-kilometre ice track in freezing conditions. The world's leading winter tyre manufacturer equipped the record-breaking car with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 studded tyres (255/35R20 97 T XL).

Test driver Janne Laitinen from Nokian Tyres reached a speed of 252.09 km/h (156.64 mph) in the E-RA electric car on the ice of Lake Ukonjärvi in Inari, Finland. The record, achieved on 17 March 2012 by the world’s northernmost tyre manufacturer and the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ high-tech E-RA (Electric RaceAbout) vehicle, is unique.

The new amazing record was set on a snowy and icy road in Finnish Lapland. Multiple World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen kept his head cool and drove the machineat a speed of 130.165 km/h (80.88mph). Breaking the record was made possible by the world’s first winter tyre for tractors, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta TRI (440/80R28 151D & 540/80R38 167D) and the Valtra T234.

Nokian Tyres and Valtra have set the world record for snow removal with an autonomous tractor. The speed record was set in March 2018 using an unmanned Valtra T254 Versu tractor equipped with Nokian Hakkapeliitta TRI tyres. Operated without a driver, the tractor ploughed snow on a closed road in Southern Finland at 73.171 km/h (45.466 mph).
