New Nokian Weatherproof took first place in the British Auto Express All-Season tyre comparison test. Nokian Tyres’ novelty took a convincing victory with the label “Auto Express Best Buy 2015”. The unique Nokian Weatherproof All-Weather tyres, from the world's northernmost tyre manufacturer, are packed with proper winter grip of a dedicated winter tyre and the stability and handling of a summer tyre.
According to the Auto Express (published 9th Sep) Nokian Weatherproofs remarkable ability on snow and in deep water seals the victory. New high-performance Nokian Weatherproof earned top results on snow braking, on snow traction, on snow circle, on straight aqua and on curved aqua.
- Nokian Weatherproof achieved a clean sweep on snow, beating even our specialist winter comparison tyre – and it didn’t take long on the snow handling circuit to see why. The Weatherproof tyre served up great traction, pulling our car through turns and allowing us to get on the throttle earlier without washing wide, Auto Express evaluates. Nokian Weatherproof also starred in the deep water of the aquaplaning, particularly in the curve.
One of the biggest British motoring magazine tested six premium European all season tyres with a VW Golf in size 205/55R16. The test line-up consisted of six models including some novelties like the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2, Pirelli Cinturato AllSeason and Vredestein Quatrac 5.
In addition, the Auto Express compared the All-Season tyres to a winter tyre ContiWinterContact TS850 and summer tyre Dunlop Sport BluResponse. Nokian Weatherproof was better than the reference winter tyre and also outperformed the summer tyre in most of the properties.
