Building The world's first zero CO₂emission tire factory

We are committed to be the leaders in sustainability and caring for the shared world we all drive in. That is why the factory in Romania will be the world's first zero CO₂ emission tire factory. The factory will use electricity that is produced 100 % with renewable sources and all steam generation will be done without fossil fuels. We are also focusing on energy efficient process and building solutions.

Commercial tire production to start in early 2025

Oradea, the home of our new factory

Many factors contributed that Romania and the town of Oradea was selected as the final location of our new factory from over 40 options. We found a site large enough to serve a scalable manufacturing footprint with green energy sources available near the site. The area has a stable business environment and educated workforce and is close to our customer base via rail and highway and it serves as an important regional and European hub of many transport routes. It is also a strong automotive manufacturing hub in Europe.
